Many folks copy the text in question, paste it into a blank TextEdit document, and then copy the plain text from there and paste it into your target document.Plus, if youre pasting a really large amount of text, say in the neighborhood of dozens or even hundreds of pages, youre going to want a better way.
Just copy your text into the clipboard and then press CommandOptionShiftV on your keyboard. It wont however, work as intended on a Microsoft Word document. Word appropriates the CommandOptionShiftV shortcut for its own purposes. While sometimes you may want to hang onto the formatting, other times stripping it all out is preferable. The question is - how do you send the report with final numbers without cluttering it with tons of initial data By replacing the formulas with calculated values. If you dont need to keep the formulas, you can select the same range that youve just copied (cells with formulas). To select non-adjacent columns, hold down CTRL while selecting. In this case, you may like the following way to copy the source data AND column width in one fell swoop. But if the resulting data is supposed to be numbers rather than formulas, Excel Paste Special can save you a trouble of replacing formulas with their values. This will multiply each of the amounts copied from column B by a percentage in column C in the same row. In this case, you input the percentage formula such as 120 in a separate cell, copy it, and then use Excel Paste Special to multiply the source numbers by the value in the copied cell.
